Research published on 26th January 2017, by homelessness charity, ‘The Passage,’ shows that 64% of homelessness organisations surveyed have come into contact with potential cases of modern slavery. Their precarious situation means that they are vulnerable to people looking to exploit them. Some are homeless after escaping from exploitation and some are being recruited for exploitation. Less than half, 46% of organizations had reported such instances to the police.
